We translated the design’s name as “A song that brings delight.” Hiaʻai describes that
uncommon emotion of pleasure and relish.
Olopua and kāhuli is a tale of the singing snails and its important relationship with its host.
The olopua tree’s dense wood was formerly used for implements of war and ʻōʻō digging sticks. Today, olopua trees continues to serve as a safe haven to the fragile and rare kāhuli snails as they continue to sing their song.
Hua Dress
Hua is the thirteenth moon of the monthly cycle. The moon is egg shaped in appearance. It is a good day to plant anything that bears fruit.
We named this dress after this Hua moon phase. Its “A” shape, short cap sleeve, stand-up collar, and informal button-up front makes this comfortable and ready for every day wear.
