Kinolau Kanaloa Mānanai Blouse - Red Seersucker
This Mānanai Blouse features our Kinolau Kanaloa print on Red Seersucker fabric with Brick ink.
When we have ritual meals, the banana leaf is like a tablecloth, supporting our foods and covering our bowls. At the imu, the leaves keep the heat while the puaʻa steam. “He maiʻa ke kanaka” refers tp its substitution for man I certain ceremonies. Maiʻa is one body form on land for Kanaloa, the god of oceans.
Bananas grew abundantly alongside Waiolama at Piopio. Rainfall at Hilo is heavy at times overflowing the banks of Waiolama, nourishing he maiʻa. This study of leaves took place there, just back of the open green spaces fronting Hilo one.
The day of the moon guide us in so many ways. The new moon is selected for its powers of a new beginning. The ʻole days keep us close to home as they are best to maintain and clean about. The full moon cycles are usually perfect days to accomplish all goals and the fruitfulness is sought.
Dressing these days, I am mindful of comfort and ease. Schedules sometimes require fabrics that can make the run, in and out. Temperatures and humidity also need to be considered… Seersucker is one solution! No ironing required. Ready off the clothesline and into the office (or concert). Lightweight and feels good!
Named for an idyllic breeze, our seersucker cloth takes this blouse to another level. Sleeveless and ultimately cool, these button ups are like bliss!
Model is wearing a size XS.
Hang to dry.
Iron on reverse.
Do not dry clean.
