Hoʻouluwehi O Ke Kai Nā Lau Ulu Aloha Shirt - Cyan

This Nā Lau Ulu Aloha Shirt features our Hoʻouluwehi print on Cyan and White fabric.

Hawaiian seaweeds provide important nutritional value to our island diet.  Their unique flavors are savory reminders of the oceanʻs bounty.  Aunty Edith Kanakaʻole penned a song about the characteristics of her favorite limu and it has become a celebrated hula!

This series of specially crafted shirts are homage to inspirational plants. Selected because of their relevancy to the moment, the art illustrates our lives, giving hint to what’s going on. They are a reflection of our dreams, our wishes, and how we would like to affect our world.

Abaca is processed and then woven together with a cotton to achieve a breathable fabric, a tighter weave, and one that does not absorb odors. The fabric is then printed, sewn into shirts, and then washed for shrinkage and softness.

First launched in July in Osaka during our special pop-up in the Hankyu Department Stores, we have finally received Hawaiʻi’s share of these shirts.  Collection ʻEkolu features Pua Palikū, Hoʻouluwehi O Ke Kai, and Ka Maka ʻUpolū.

46% abaca and 54% cotton, Studio Model is 6'0" and wearing size XL.
