This Buttonup Aloha Shirt features our Pua Ka Pia print on Pimento fabric with Mahogany and Cream ink.
"The pia is blooming!" It's exciting to see this plant in full bloom. Its unique characteristics make it an all-time favorite! Blooming only in the summer, the flowers come out of the ground on their own stem, only to surpass the height of the leaves and then burst into an exciting display of tendrils. This feminine and delicate flower is the crown jewel of the plant, also known as the Polynesian arrowroot. The Hawaiians used it for starch and as medicine.
Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Buttonup is an open front, tapered shirt with a full length placket, while the Pullover features a half placket and is designed slightly wider to allow over-the-head dressing with ease. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!
