Hawaiian seaweeds provide important nutritional value to our island diet. Their unique flavors are savory reminders of the oceanʻs bounty. Aunty Edith Kanakaʻole penned a song about the characteristics of her favorite limu and it has become a celebrated hula!
The weather has been so good, inviting us to partake ocean activities. Whether on the beach or parading into that baby lūʻau, this pāʻū will keep you cool! All cotton, this skirt features our Uluwehi O Ke Kai print, which makes it suitable for that activity at the shoreline!
Twenty something years ago, I met up with Hayato Takasu. We began doing projects together, including some wonderful umbrellas, linen clothes, and sharing some of our art. We have travelled together, surfed hours, and even toasted Hibiki for anniversaries! This year, we asked for him to play with us. He helped us produce our latest wahine wares, tees, and even a tenugui! The craftsmanship and the integrity of production in Japan makes me so proud. We are happy with these items and hope you’ll get to try them!
