Lei Kauila
Hinahina is found growing along the coastlines, especially on Molokaʻi. The green vines crawl on the sand and rocks, appearing like a green carpet. The clusters of tiny white flowersare a pleasant accent in the midst of the pale green leaves.
Aunty Kauila Reyes was a Kumu Hula from Kapuaiwa, Molokaʻi. We spent many summers in the sandy mud flats fronting of her house. We were either catching kūhonu crab mullet, or pāpio. We would then sit around the table, sharing the catch, laughing together.
This art is dedicated to Aunty Kauila and her daughter Odetta. They inspired me to create these images, reminding me of the many experiences that we shared.
Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Pullover features a half placket and is designed slightly wider to allow over-the-head dressing with ease. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!

SHIPPING & STORE PICKUP We offer domestic and international shipping options for online orders through USPS, FedEx, and DHL International. Please allow at least 2 - 3 business days for your order to be packed and processed for shipping. The shipping estimates listed at the time of the order are based on when the parcel leaves our premises, not when the order is placed. Please contact your chosen carrier with your tracking information to inquire about the estimated date of arrival and location of your package. Orders are shipped out Monday-Friday. Orders that come in on Friday after 10am HST will not be processed until the following Monday, even if the request is for overnight shipping. If you live on Hawaiʻi island and would like to pick up your order at our Downtown Hilo Flagship store, please select the "Local Pickup" option. Please allow 24 hours for us to get your order ready.
