The story is told for my lei, the ‘Āhihi blossom of Lanihuli”
The ʻāhihi blossom grows similarly to the lehua as it is in the same family as theʻōhiʻa. A low spreading shrub growing in the lofty and misty cool heights, the flower became famous in a mele written Maddy Lam and Mary Kawena Pukuʻi. Written for Aunty Maiki as a gift from her husband Kahauanu Lake, the song became a signature piece and a popular hula within Aunty Maiki’s halau.

Introducing Pōkiʻi! We’ve taken our long linen dress and shortened it for those informal times. It’s one of those grab and run, throw on and dig. Ready, set, GO!
Pōkiʻi is a term for a younger sister or brother. It is also used to describe a relationship, like the lehua blossom and the rainfall - dear to each other. We liken the big sister (ʻOhāʻula Dress) caring for the young sister (Ka Pōkiʻi) with lots of aloha.

SHIPPING & STORE PICKUP We offer domestic and international shipping options for online orders through USPS, FedEx, and DHL International. Please allow at least 2 - 3 business days for your order to be packed and processed for shipping. The shipping estimates listed at the time of the order are based on when the parcel leaves our premises, not when the order is placed. Please contact your chosen carrier with your tracking information to inquire about the estimated date of arrival and location of your package. Orders are shipped out Monday-Friday. Orders that come in on Friday after 10am HST will not be processed until the following Monday, even if the request is for overnight shipping. If you live on Hawaiʻi island and would like to pick up your order at our Downtown Hilo Flagship store, please select the "Local Pickup" option. Please allow 24 hours for us to get your order ready.
