Ulukau
Ulukau means “placed inspiration.” It is the unplanned acquisition of prophetic and interpretive powers without visible possession of a god. Designs are the tangible images of thought, a story line, an experience. In this design, I found myself deeply immersed in process of creating. I often lose myself in the course of cutting the art by hand.
The art is of ʻulu, the breadfruit. The same term, without the ʻokina, means to inspire, to grow, to build. Without a plan, allowing the naʻau to direct, we are guided by a greater source.
Named after the thirteenth day of the moon phase, the Hua Dress is a celebration of the fruits of our labor! A combination of many favorite styles, the sleeve, collar, length and trapeze is all about comfort. Youthful, cool and poise are offered in this all-occasion wearable. A stand-up collar, cap sleeves and an at-the-knee length, the style is all about comfort. Button-front closure and relaxing ease permits perfect strides!

SHIPPING & STORE PICKUP We offer domestic and international shipping options for online orders through USPS, FedEx, and DHL International. Please allow at least 2 - 3 business days for your order to be packed and processed for shipping. The shipping estimates listed at the time of the order are based on when the parcel leaves our premises, not when the order is placed. Please contact your chosen carrier with your tracking information to inquire about the estimated date of arrival and location of your package. Orders are shipped out Monday-Friday. Orders that come in on Friday after 10am HST will not be processed until the following Monday, even if the request is for overnight shipping. If you live on Hawaiʻi island and would like to pick up your order at our Downtown Hilo Flagship store, please select the "Local Pickup" option. Please allow 24 hours for us to get your order ready. We will send a notification to you when your order is ready to be picked up. Please have your order number available when you arrive.
