The request from Paul and Ashley Kema for a name for their to-be-born-girl had to include Ashley's grandfather's name. His Chinese name was loosely translated to “Golden Memories”.
Hiʻilei articulates the care bestowed on a beloved child, as carried at the bosom. I imagine this strong love, wanting the child to be always close at hand. The wearing of this lei, this child, will always to be close to me. Haliʻa Aloha describes the most cherished memories.
The lei of pua niu was laid out by @b_alia Representing Paul and Ashley, the lei intersection as the piko of the overall design. Hiʻileihaliʻaaloha is the piko, their daughter. This fabric was laid out for the Piha Makahiki a Hiʻilei.
Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Pullover features a half placket and is designed slightly wider to allow over-the-head dressing with ease. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!

SHIPPING & STORE PICKUP We offer domestic and international shipping options for online orders through USPS, FedEx, and DHL International. Please allow at least 2 - 3 business days for your order to be packed and processed for shipping. The shipping estimates listed at the time of the order are based on when the parcel leaves our premises, not when the order is placed. Please contact your chosen carrier with your tracking information to inquire about the estimated date of arrival and location of your package. Orders are shipped out Monday-Friday. Orders that come in on Friday after 10am HST will not be processed until the following Monday, even if the request is for overnight shipping. If you live on Hawaiʻi island and would like to pick up your order at our Downtown Hilo Flagship store, please select the "Local Pickup" option. Please allow 24 hours for us to get your order ready.
