Thriving in salty ocean spray, the hinahina is happy growing along the shoreline.  A prized lei, especially if poepoe, is not a common sight.  Aunty Kauila presented a lei to me and it is still one of the most memorable in my lifetime!

Hinahina Kū Kahakai translates to The-Hinahina-Standing-at-the-Seashore.
