This Pullover aloha shirt features our Hoʻolauulu print on Black Seersucker material with Butter ink.
Hoʻolauʻulu
The ʻulu has long been a symbol of strength and inspiration to us. The tree sustains us physically and psychologically. The essence of the spirit feeds the soul. The design depicted here showcases Sig's growth as an artist, and as a master of his craft. The lines of the leaves were cut in a continuous motion, locking in the flow and mana of his work. The depiction of the skin of the ʻulu as an ʻohe kāpala offers both tradition as well as a modern twist. The name is simple, but its meaning is several layers deep. Lau is a measurement of quantity, ulu meaning growth, inspiration and plenty. We are grateful for our blessings and humbly ask that they continue to grow.
Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Pullover features a half placket and is designed slightly wider to allow over-the-head dressing with ease. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!
