Nonolo Kanaloa

The intentions instilled in our art is based on relationships and connection to place.  Initially commissioned for family, this art highlights vibrations, clicks, and melodies of a whale song.  Similar to the reverberations in a chant, these acoustics travel vast distances below the ocean’s surface. 

The art of this print was inspired by a koholā melody recorded in the Pailolo Channel between Maui and Molokaʻi.  Extending far beyond the shores, these elements celebrate our bond to the living animals traversing our Hawaiian waters.  We humbly honor koholā and palaoa along with the practitioners that mālama.

Elevation

For our 40th anniversary celebration we wanted to offer something new. An elevated version of what we do. Some people may remember our Forest Cloud collections sourced and produced in Japan. This time around we worked with a mill that’s been in Japan since 1948 to source the fabrics, then hand printed and sewn in Hawaii. The result is the same trusted fit with a sense of elevation! Available in 3 new fabrics all 100% cotton. Indigo Chambray, Natural Herringbone Plaid, and a Checkered Indigo Twill.
