This Pullover Aloha Shirt features our Ola Puaʻala print on Silver material with Bordeaux and Coal ink.
Ola Puaʻala
Once thought as rare and only grown on the windy Nā Pali coastline of Kaua'i, this lobelia is now a popular ornamental on all islands! Nicknamed “a cabbage on a stick” especially as a mature plant, the ʻalula is very unique.
The simple lines of the florets inspire us. This layout portrays the blossoms including a linear presentation. This juxtaposition takes on both a positive and negative depiction.
Puaʻala is another term for the ʻalula. Ola Puaʻala is interpreted as “Long Live Puaʻala!”
This print honors the life of Sig’s niece Puaʻala Garmon.
Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Pullover features a half placket and is designed slightly wider to allow over-the-head dressing with ease. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!
