Pololū

In the loʻi of Waipiʻo Valley there are many varieties of kalo of which Pololū is a favored one.  Its leaves, most often used in making lū'au he'e or lū'au moa, are specially gathered for baby’s Piha Makahiki or nephew’s graduation.  We are all in the loʻi together, picking the best leaves for the tastiest dish.

There at Puʻueo, in the heart of Waipi'o Valley, our dear friend Kia would lead us through the loʻi, teaching us about kalo, the valley, and generally, about life.  His family’s taro patches gave us memorable experiences that we treasure.

This design of taro has been given the name of Pololū to honor the many generations who have cared for the land and taught us the names of the different varieties.

Hua Dress

Named after the thirteenth day of the moon phase, the Hua Dress is a celebration of the fruits of our labor! A combination of many favorite styles, the sleeve, collar, length and trapeze is all about comfort. Youthful, cool and poise are offered in this all-occasion wearable.
