Ulu Kukui

Lanikaula was a well known kahuna of Molokaʻi.  His expertise and abilities were recognized throughout Hawaiʻi.  There is a grove of kukui trees named after him. This grove stands today.

Kukui, its candlenut, and the many varieties of leaves, symbolizes enlightenment. Each leaf represents a form of knowledge and its placement in a path represents enlightenment that one person seeks, together creating a grove of knowledge.

Ulu Kukui, translates to Grove of Kukui.  We honor Lanikaula!
