Ululoa

A couple of decades have passed since the first cutting of ʻulu.  Always catching my eye and forever inspiring, I wanted to challenge myself in this new cut.  Once placing my blade down, I did not lift the blade off until I had completed the entire leaf. 

This art is a reflection of “radiant energy.”  Imagine the sunlight behind the leaf and how it would “outline” the silhouette.  With this Ululoa design, I have actually cut the light surrounding the leaf.  Forever Inspiring!

Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Pullover features a half placket and is designed slightly wider to allow over-the-head dressing with ease. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!
