This Button Up Aloha Shirt features our ʻAmaʻulani print on Bordeaux material with Ash and Shiitake ink. 

ʻAmaʻulani

Kinolau to Kamapuaʻa, the light green and the bright orange of the new fronds catch our eyes. Stark against the black of the lava, the ʻamaʻu thrives in the mist. The ʻamaʻu fronds give us an earth-colored dye.  The pulu was used for stuffing pillows and mattresses. 

A bird’s eye view of a Hawaiian forest is filled with highlights of the ʻamaʻu fern.  The abundance of the fern across the barren lava field confirms its ability to colonize new lands. Halemaʻumaʻu, the volcanic crater on Kīlauea, is one of our favorite places to view both ʻamaʻu and the domain of Pele!

Button Up Aloha Shirt

Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Button Up is an open front, tapered shirt with a full length placket. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!
