This pullover Aloha Shirt features our Maluihi print on Mediterranean material with Lake and White ink.

"Boy, you know who weaved that pāpale?"

Attending a Papakū Makawalu a few years back, I was pulled aside and, with a firm kupuna voice, asking me if I knew who had woven my hat, she proceeded to describe the piko and her personal signature of my pāpale.  As a gift from my Aunty Michele, it was already my favorite hat and now getting a personal description from Aunty Maluihi who had woven the pāpale, it became a treasure!

My perception of the hat was already great, but towards the end of that day Aunty pulled me to the side and said "You look good in that pāpale! I'm gonna name that style Kūhaʻo.”  On the inside I died in excitement and as I pulled my thoughts back together I humbly told her, "Mahalo Aunty!"

This design was inspired by the pāpale Aunty wove and the details she shared with me.

Pullover Aloha Shirt  

Inspired by the ivy-league shirts of the early 1900s, the fabric designs are pure Hawai‘i, and the look is pleasingly fresh. The Pullover features a half placket and is designed slightly wider to allow over-the-head dressing with ease. Coconut buttons are featured on the stand-up, button-down collar and on the front placket. Tuck it in or leave it out over the trousers for a more casual look. Either way, it's the perfect touch of crisp aloha!
